The One Where I Picked Out Invitations

Thursday: invitations.

It was a rainy day - the kind of day where I'd have preferred to head straight home to veg after work. Alas, I'd scheduled a 4 pm meeting at the local print shop. So I went, but it didn't bode well.

End result, though, was good. I had a meeting with Alex, who was very nice and very knowledgeable. He gave me several large books to browse through and I found several possibilities. I also discovered I know nothing about invitations... and they're a heck of a lot more expensive than I'd thought! Everything costs extra money: ink colors, layers of paper, lined envelopes... it's a little crazy.

Speaking of crazy, we took a moment to look up an invitation I'd particularly liked, from the Martha Stewart book. I already knew from searching online that these were outside of my price range, but I was curious. Exact price: $700+. Yikes.

"No wonder hardly anybody ever orders from this book," said Alex.

I think I might have found some I like, though. My mom seemed to approve of them too, when I showed them to her. Now if I could just get the last of the names/addresses from people, I might be closer to sending them :)

(PS - I guess maybe I should show them to Ryan too, huh? :) )
